W.I.P. Halkomelem Translator & Dictionary

This is the project I am working on at the moment. Working off of my previous Halkomelem Steno project, I am now figuring out how the data I have extracted could be used for machine translation and the creation of an online dictionary for the Downriver dialect of the Halkomelem language. I am currently experimenting with ngrams, the provided glosses and machine learning. More info will be added at a later date once I have gotten more results.

Halkomelem Steno

This is what I worked on for my Career Life Connections (CLC) capstone project before graduation. This tackled my 3 main hobbies at the time, linguistics, programming, and stenography, and my goals for it were to create a proof of concept for a potential steno system based on my knowledge at the time. This was done through creating word, letter and multigraph frequencies from the Musqueam Grammar by Wayne Suttles. The video here was the presentation for my project, giving a rough outline of the Halkomelem language, and machine stenography, before going into details about the project.
